Survey Description


A till sampling survey was carried out on the JD claim group located approximately 450 km north-northeast of Yellowknife. A total of 28 samples were collected and sent for processing at Tahera Corporation’s North Vancouver Laboratory.

During the 2000 field season, detailed and regional till sampling was carried out with the intent of identifying potential sources of kimberlite indicator minerals.

The minerals were SEM scanned.

  • Covers part of NTS 76L/2 (Kathawachaga Lake), 3 (Belanger Rapids), 76E/13, 14 (Unit Lake), the JD claim group in western Nunavut.  It is located approximately 450 km north northeast of Yellowknife.

  • Covers part of NTS 76L/2 (Kathawachaga Lake), 3 (Belanger Rapids), 76E/13, 14 (Unit Lake), the JD claim group in western Nunavut.  It is bounded to the south by Contwoyto Lake.

  • Covers part of NTS 76L/2 (Kathawachaga Lake), 3 (Belanger Rapids), 76E/13, 14 (Unit Lake), the JD claim group in western Nunavut.  It is located approximately 450 km north northeast of Yellowknife.
