In August 1994, a reconnaissance sampling program was carried out on the Victoria Island property, held by Leicester Diamond Mines Ltd. and Cominco Ltd. on NTS sheets 77C, D, E, F.
A total of 200 samples were collected from lake, esker and stream sediments and processed for diamond indicator minerals at Cominco’s geochemical laboratory in Rexdale, ON.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:
Covers part of NTS 77C (Banning Lake), 77D (Cambridge Bay), 77E (Washburn Lake), 77F (Kagloryuak River), the Victoria Island property in northern Nunavut. It is located on Victoria Island.
