Survey Description

This 1993 exploration program consisted of geological mapping and heavy mineral sampling of specific target areas.  These areas were identified by a detailed review of available data for the Dubwant Lake area which is located approximately 650 km east of Yellowknife and 600 km north-northeast of Points North, Saskatchewan on NTS sheets 65K/10,11,15.  The samples were collected by Taiga Consultants Ltd., on behalf of Westwin Ventures Inc.

Rock samples weighing 70 kg were taken for analysis of indicator minerals.  Several till samples were collected from mud boils and eskers in areas where kimberlite pipes were expected.  These samples were sent to TerraMin Research Labs in Calgary, AB.

Samples have been SEM checked and data are available.

The data can be found in Nunavut Assessment Report 083238.
