Survey Description

A helicopter-supported heavy mineral sampling program was conducted on the Noront 2 property, located in the Itchen Lake area approximately 370 km northeast of Yellowknife, in Nunavut and Northwest Territories.  A total of 137 samples were collected during the 1994 summer field season.  The samples were sent to Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. laboratory facilities in North Vancouver, BC.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers parts of NTS 86H/7, 9, and 10, on the Noront 2 claims in Nunavut and Northwest Territories.  It is directly south of Rockinghorse Lake and north of Point Lake.  Itchen Lake falls in the study area.
