Survey Description


During the summer of 1995, a helicopter-supported till sampling survey was carried out on the Rockinghorse Lake property, located approximately 400 km north of Yellowknife.  A total of 869 samples were collected by two-man crews and sent for kimberlitic indicator mineral processing at DeBeers’ Grande Prairie laboratory.

  • Covers part of NTS 76E/13, 76L/4, 86H/16 (Rockinghorse Lake), 86I/1, 2 and 7, the Rockinghorse Lake property in northwest Nunavut.  It is located approximately 400 km northeast of Yellowknife in the Rockinghorse Lake area.
