Survey Description

During the summer of 1988, helicopter-supported reconnaissance level till sampling was carried out at a density of 1 sample per 9 km2 in the Yathkyed Lake area, Nunavut.  Ground traversing was also conducted for detailed till sampling on the SY-4 and SY-13 grids.  The data have not been published.

Sampling Procedure

Shallow surface till samples (8 to 10 kg) from approximately 1 m depth were collected from hand-dug pits in mud boils.
