NGR stream sediment and water survey, NTS 105I, Nahanni, Yukon and Northwest Territories, 1981

Helicopter-supported stream sediment and water sampling was carried out in 1981 in the Nahanni map area, southeast Yukon and southwest Northwest Territories. Samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 12 km2 throughout the 11,588 km2 survey area. For the purposes of sampling, preparation and analytical control, sample numbers were divided into blocks of 20 with each block consisting of 17 routine samples, one field duplicate, one blind duplicate and one control reference standard. The data were published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 868 in 1982. The samples were re-analysed by INAA in 1999 and republished in GSC Open File 3772. The data were subsequently repackaged and re-released as GSC Open File 4016.
Data from this survey are also included in GSC Open File 5344.
In 2008, the sediment samples were reanalysed by ICP-MS and published in GSC Open File 6271, along with the original data from OF 868.
This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.
