A total of 560 till samples were collected on southern Melville Peninsula, Nunavut in 1990 and 1991. The evenly spaced samples covered an area of about 40,000 km2. Samples were taken from the walls of pits dug into mudboils. Most samples were taken from depths ranging from about 50 cm. Care was taken to avoid obvious oxidation or organic layers. The data are published in GSC Open File 3091 and an interpretation can be found in GSC Bulletin 561.
A final report, including new INAA data can be found in GSC Open File 4636.
