In 1982, a base till and clay sampling survey was conducted by the firm Exploration Aiguebelle Inc., in the Palmarolle area, Quebec. The area covers 12 km2. A total of 99 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.1 km2. On each of the 33 drilling sites, one base till sample was collected (screened to separate the fine fraction (<80 mesh) and the heavy mineral fraction (>35 mesh)) and one glaciolacustrine clay sample.
The heavy mineral fraction was analyzed using a binocular microscope for visual identification and 1 gram of this material was crushed and analyzed.
All samples were analyzed for:
|Ag, Al, As, Au, B, Ba, Be, Bi, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cu, Eu, F, Fe, Hg, K, La, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, Sc, Se, Sm, Sr, Te, Th, Ti, U, V, W, Y, Zn|
The data are published in Open File MB 89-57, Department of Energy and Resources, 1990.
