Survey Description


During the summer of 1982, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Gallichan area, Quebec.  The area covers 40 km 2.  A total of 112 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.4 km 2.  Samples were analyzed for:

 

Element Dissolution Technique
Ag, As, Co, Cu, Hg, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Zn   atomic absorption (AAS)
U   fluorimetry

 

The data are published in Open File DP 86-20, Department of Energy and Resources, 1987.  Results of the 1982 sampling are published with the 1973 sampling (DPV-501/502, DPV-840) and 1977 sampling (MB 85-28).

This survey is part of a compilation of geochemical surveys published in DV 87-22.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 32D/11 (Palmarolle).  The Gallichan area is situated in the southeastern part of Saint-Laurent de Gallichan, Palmarolle township.  It is bounded by latitudes 48°33' and 48°38' and longitudes 79°09' and 79°19'.
