Survey Description
During the fall of 1978, a soil sampling survey was conducted by the company Jean Descarreaux and Associates, for a group of 34 claims (staked in 1977), on the Lac Fabiola property. The area covers 5 km 2. A total of 3936 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.001 km 2. Samples were collected from horizon A 1, except in marshy areas where horizon A 0 was taken. These samples were analysed for Cu, Zn, Mn, Mo, As, Li (atomic absorption), U (paper chromatography) and loss on ignition.
The data are published in Open File DP-827, Department of Energy and Resources, 1981. Raw data are published in Open File DP-828.

Covers NTS 32D/10 (Taschereau), /11 (Palmarolle). The Lac Fabiola area is situated in the Abitibi region. It is located 35 km north of Rouyn-Noranda, in the Destor and Poularies townships. It is bounded by latitudes 48°33'45" and 48°35'30" and longitudes 78°59' and 79°02'40".
