Survey Description


Between 1966 and 1968, a soil sampling survey was conducted in the Orléans island region and in Bellechasse and Montmagny counties, Quebec.  A total of 375 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 5.3 km 2 and analysed for:

In 1969, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in Bellechasse and Dorchester counties.  A total of 140 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 14.3 km 2 and analysed for:

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 21L/15 (Saint-Raphael). The Île d'Orléans region is situated in the Montmorency 2 county. It is bounded by latitudes 46°51'40" and 47°01'35" and longitudes 70°48' and 71°.

  • Covers NTS 21L/10 (Saint-Malachie) and 15 (Saint-Raphael). The Saint-Raphaël-Saint-Malachie region is situated in the Montmorency and Montmagny counties. It is bounded by latitudes 46°36'30" and 47° and longitudes 70°30' and 71°.

  • Covers NTS 21L/10 (Saint-Malachie). The Saint-Raphaël-Saint-Malachie region is situated in the Bellechasse and Dorchester counties. It is bounded by latitudes 46°29'55" and 46°45'20" and longitudes 70°30' and 70°58'.
