Survey Description

In 1967, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Pluto area, Dubuc and Roberval counties and Mistassini Territory, Quebec.  The area covers 1900 km2.  A total of 359 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 5.3 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo, Ni and U.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-584, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1970.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 23D/3 (Lac Gaschet), /6 (Lac Manet).  The Lac Pluto area consists of four quadrangles lying between latitudes 52oand 52o26' and longitudes 71oand 71o30'.  Lac Pluto, in the center of the area, is 145 miles northwest of Manicouagan 5, and 140 miles west of Gagnon.
