In 1964, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Tchitogama area, Lac-St-Jean, Jonquière-Kénogami and Chicoutimi counties, Quebec. The area covers 500 km2. A total of 81 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 6.2 km2 and analysed for Cu, Zn, Pb, Mo and Ni.
The data are published in preliminary report RP-533, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1965.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:
Covers NTS 22D/14 (Lac Vermont) west. The Lac Tchitogama area includes the townships of Maltais and Jogues in Lac St. Jean county and of Rouleau, Alneau, Labrecque and Bégin townships in Chicoutimi county. Notre-Dame du Rosaire, the only village in the area, is approximately 50 miles northwest of Chicoutimi and 35 miles northeast of Alma.
