Survey Description


Approximately 156 samples were collected in several townships in northern Ontario including Carscallen and Thorburn, part of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt.  No sampling year was given.  The data were released as part of a geological compilation of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt in Ontario Geological Survey Miscellaneous Release – Data 155.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers parts of NTS 42A/5 (Dana Lake) and 42A/12 (Kamiskotia Lake) in northern Ontario.  It covers parts of Carscallen, Thorburn, Turnbull, Bristol, Godfrey, Robb, Jamieson, Loveland and Macdiarmid Townships.  The Mattagami River runs north-south just east of the study area.

  • Covers part of NTS 42A/11 (Pamour) in Jamieson Township, northern Ontario.  It is located approximately 10 km northwest of Timmins.
