Survey Description


In 2008, a total of 70 basal till samples were collected in the northeastern part of the New Brunswick Lowlands, comprising the eastern and central parts of the Bathurst map area. The samples were collected using a reconnaissance 10 km sample grid.

The data are published in New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources Open File 2010-5.  Sample locations, ice flow indicators and granular aggregate resources are found on NBDNR Map Plates 2009-10A and 2009-10B.

The data are also published as part of a compilation for NTS 21P in New Brunswick Department of Energy and Resource Development Open File OF 2017-2.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers most of NTS 21P (Bathurst) in the northeastern part of the New Brunswick Lowlands, northeast New Brunswick.  The cities of Bathurst and Miramichi are located in the northwest and south-central parts of the study area, respectively.
