Survey Description

Peat and B-horizon soil samples were collected in 1978 and 1979 over a uranium occurrence in central Labrador.  The samples were collected from the G-1 Grid located approximately 100 km northeast of Goose Bay.  The data are published in Newfoundland Department of Mines and Energy Open File LAB 457.

Paper report and maps.

Quantities Analysed:

<0.177 mm fraction by delayed neutron activation for U; by AAS for 9 elements; by specific ion electrode for F.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers the G-1 grid, on NTS 13G/14 (Etagaulet Point) located about 100 km northeast of Goose Bay, central Labrador.  It is located approximately 6 km north from the north shore of Lake Melville.
