Survey Description

Till samples were collected in the area of the Peter Lake Domain, northeast Saskatchewan.  Samples were collected near Morwick, Weatherup and Lyle lakes, as well as along Highway 905.  A description of the survey can be found in Saskatchewan Geological Survey Summary of Investigations 1992, Miscellaneous Report 92-4.  The data were not published.

Data Description:

Paper report, no data lists.

Quantities Analysed:

<0.063 mm fraction of till analyzed for 55 elements (major and traces) by ICP-AES after digestion by three acid (HF/HNO 3/HClO 4) total digestion or after a partial HNO 3/HCl digestion; Au by fire assay/ICP; U by fluorometry after a HNO 3/HCl digestion.

Geochem Maps Available:

None.

Other Analyses:

Gold grain counts and descriptions; texture of the <2.00 mm fraction of till; base metal indicator minerals.  Kimberlite indicator mineral data added to Saskatchewan Industry and Resources Kimberlite Indicator Mineral Database.

In 2002, selected archived samples were reanalyzed for major and trace elements and gold.  These new data as well as the original unpublished data are available in a final report of the Peter Lake Domain: Saskatchewan Economy Final Reports, Report 261.
