Survey Description

Till sampling was carried out in the Darrol Lake area, south of Ruttan Mine, Manitoba, to determine the potential for gold mineralization:

The samples were processed for heavy minerals, including gold.  The raw data have not been published.  A summary of the work can be found in Manitoba Energy and Mines, Report of Field Activities, 1988.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 64B/5 (Pemichigamau Lake), the Darrol Lake area, northern Manitoba.  It is located approximately 22 km southeast of the town of Leaf Rapids and 12 km south of the Ruttan Mine.
