NGR BC AAS stream sediments and moss mats (8 elements, no Ag)



NGR British Columbia stream samples (sediments and moss mats), analysis by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS).

General Methodology:

A 1 gm sample is dissolved in 3 ml HNO3 and allowed to sit overnight.  1 ml of HCl is added in a 90°C water bath and left for 2 hours.  The solution is then cooled, water is added, wait 2 hours.  The element was determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy using an air-acetylene flame.  Background corrections were made for Pb, Ni, Co, Ag and Cd. For Mo, an Al solution was added prior to AAS.
