General Methodology:

Instrument neutron activation analysis involved irradiating the sediment sample for 20 minutes in a neutron flux of 1011 neutrons/cm2/second.  After a decay period of approxiately 1 week, gamma-ray emissions for the elements were measured using a gamma-ray spectrometer with high resolution, coaxial germanium detector.  Counting time was approximately 15 minutes per sample.
