General Methodology:

A one gram sample is leached with 6ml of a mixture of HCl, HNO3, and distilled, deionized water (2:2:2 v/v) at 95°C for one hour.  The sample solution is diluted to 20ml and analysed by inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy on a Jarrell Ash instrument and inductively couple plasma mass spectroscopy on a Perkin Elmer Elan instrument.
