ACME, stream sediment, ICP-MS (Sn - LiBO2 fusion)

General Methodology:

Tin was analysed by heating a 0.2g sample mixed with 1.5g of LiBO2 flux in a muffle furnace for 15 minutes at 1050°C in a graphite crucible. The molten mixture was removed and immediately poured into 100ml of 5% HNO3.  The solution was shaken for two hours and then an aliquot was poured into a test tube.  Analytical values were determined using a Perkin-Elmer 6000 ICP-MS.
