Chemex (surface water) AAS (magnesium) – d.l. = 0.05

Chemex, surface water; AAS (magnesium) – detection limit is 0.05 ppm

General Methodology:

Calcium and magnesium in waters were determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The sample solution contained 1000 μg/mL potassium and 2000 μg/mL lanthanum.  Potassium acted as an ionization buffer and lanthanum as the releasing agent.
