Caesium was used as the ionization buffer (1000 μG mL 1) for Na, K, Ca and Mg.

General Methodology:

Determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry using an air-acetylene flame on a fully automated Perkin-Elmer 5000.

Caesium was used as the ionization buffer (1000 μG mL 1) for Na and K.

Caesium was used as the ionization buffer (1000 μG mL 1) and lanthanum used as a releasing agent (2000 μG mL 1) for Ca and Mg.
