OGS Geoscience Laboratories: This package is designed for the analysis of major elements in geological samples.  The samples are first run for loss on ignition (LOI) (100°C under nitrogen atmosphere, 1000°C under oxygen atmosphere until a constant weight % is determined) and then fused with a borate flux to produce a glass bead.
