ODM HMC processing and VG counts [#1]



ODM HMC processing and VG counts. The < 0.25 mm fraction of the samples is counted for gold. The > 0.25 mm fractions are sent to the Saskatchewan Research Council for IM processing.

General Methodology:

Overburden Drilling Management indicator mineral grain separation. The sample is split into a series of fractions as a precursor to mineral grain identification. This procedure is slightly different than the standard ODM flow chart.

A split from the bulk sample is disaggregated and screened with a 2 mm and 1 mm and 0.25 mm mesh respectively. Samples are run twice through the shaking table, panned and gold grains are separated, picked and classified according to shape. The samples are sieved to < 0.25 mm (the 0.25-2.00 mm fraction is sent to Saskatchewan Research Council for indicator mineral picking). Weights for the 0.25-2.00 mm fractions are approximated.
