De Beers Indicator Mineral Picking

De Beers indicator mineral picking. Grains are picked for 9 different minerals and mineral features indicative of kimberlitic environments.

General Methodology:

De Beers indicator mineral picking. Grains from the 0.3-0.5 mm, 0.5-1.0 mm and 1.0-2.0 mm fractions are picked for indicator minerals and mineral characteristics indicative of kimberlite origin. Grains are picked for diamonds, kimberlitic garnets, garnets with kelyphite remnants, other kimberlitic grains, ilmenite, perovskite mantle ilmenites, other ilmneites, clinopyroxene, chrome diopside with remnants of original surface, other chrome diopsides and chrome spinel grains.
