GSC electron microprobe (GARNET)

GSC electron microprobe analysis using the GARNET routine.

General Methodology:

Geological Survey of Canada electron microprobe analysis. Samples are analysed for 10 different major and minor element oxides using the GARNET routine. Raw data is processed using the Cameca PAP program (Pouchou and Pichoir, 1984). Microprobe data were sorted and classified according to chemical composition with threshold values being presented in GSC Open File 3295. A table summarizing the operating conditions of the microprobe follows:
