GSC ICP-MS (100 rare earth elements + Y)



Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis of 100 rare earth elements + Y was performed on the till samples.  The analyses were performed by the Geological Survey of Canada Analytical Chemistry Laboratory in Ottawa, Ontario.

General Methodology:

Method ICPMS-100  Rare Earth Elements + Y Determinations are based on the total dissolution of the sample using nitric, perchloric and hydrofluoric acids followed by a lithium metaborate fusion of any residual material.  A total of 1.0 grams of sample is required for analysis.

Instrumentation: Perkin Elmer/Sciex ELAN 5000 Mass Spectrometer
