Quebec Geoscience Centre (QGC): X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) (12 elements)

General Methodology:

X-ray fluorescence (XRF) trace element analyses (Ba, Cu, Ga, Nb, Ni, Pb, Rb, Sr, V, Y, Zn, Zr) were performed on 32 mm diameter discs.  The discs were prepared by mixing 4 g of the < 63 μm fraction with 1g of ligen (organic polymer). Applying a pressure of 40 tons to the material made the discs.  Measurements were done on a Bausch and Lomb ARL-8420 instrument; the analyses were corrected using the Compton method.
