OPEN FILES 418, 419 and 420

Uranium Reconnaissance Program National stream sediment and water geochemical reconnaissance data, Northern Yukon Territory, (Parts of NTS 116A, B, G, H; Parts of NTS 106D, E and NTS 116A, H; and parts of NTS 106E, L and 116H, I)

          These files relate to data acquired through the Federal Uranium Reconnaissance Program by the Geological Survey of Canada. The contracts for field work, sample preparation and sample analysis were left, supervised and monitored by the Geochemistry Section, Geological Survey of Canada.

          The survey covers some 11,000 square miles at an average sample density of 1 sample per 5 square miles. Sediment samples were analysed for 12 elements (U, Zn, CU, Pb, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Fe, Mo, Ba, W) and water samples for 2 elements (U, F) and pH.

          The files consist of 39 geochemical maps, the areas being divided into 3 sheets, 3 sample location maps and lists of the field and analytical data.

          These files will be placed on Open File for inspection from 1:00 pm EDT, Wednesday, June 15th, 1977 (and equivalent local times) at the libraries of the Geological Survey of Canada and also at the office of the Regional Geologist, Dept. of Indian and Northern Affairs, 200 Range Road, Whitehorse, Y1A 3V1.

          White prints will be available for sale through the Regional Geologist's office, 200 Range Road, Whitehorse, Y1A 3V1, at the user's expense. Copies of material may also be obtained at user's expense by application to Campbell Quickprint, 880 Wellington Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1R 6K7.
