Regional lake sediment geochemical reconnaissance data, NTS 64J, 64K, 64N and 64O (under the Federal-Provincial Uranium Reconnaissance Program, Northwestern Manitoba).

The survey covers some 50,000 km 2, at an average sample density of 1 sample per 12.5 km 2. Samples were analyzed for 12 elements (Zn, Cu, Pb, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Fe, U, Mo, As and Hg) and loss-on-ignition to estimate the organic carbon content.

Each file consists of 13 geochemical maps, a sample location map, and a list of the field and analytical data.

The project was jointly planned by the Geological Survey of Canada and the Manitoba Mineral Resources Division. E.H.W. Hornbrook was responsible for the field sampling contract let to Trigg, Woollet and Associates Ltd. Sample preparation was carried out at the Geological Survey under the supervision of J.J. Lynch who was also responsible for the chemical analysis contracts let to Chemex Laboratories Ltd. and Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. Data monitoring, compilation and map production were carried out at the Geological Survey under the supervision of R.G. Garrett.
