Texada Island, British Columbia vegetation (seaweed) survey, 1989
The use of seaweed in mineral prospecting and environmental monitoring has been tested in several studies. As there was no record of this approach to biogeochemical prospecting along Canada’s coasts, an orientation study was carried out in June 1989 in the intertidal zone of Texada Island, British Columbia. A summary of this work can be found in Geological Survey of Canada Current Research, Paper 90-1E.
