Project Metadata

At the request of the Office de développement de l'Est du Québec, the Université du Québec à Rimouski conducted sampling surveys in Matapédia county.  The goals of this project were to initiate the population to mining prospection, to verify the commercial value of some areas and to extend the stream sediment geochemical project carried out in the Gaspé Peninsula by the Department of Natural Resources.  In 1973, a survey was conducted by the Department of Natural Resources.

The chemical analyses of the samples were carried out at the laboratories of the Department of Natural Resources.  The data related to this project were given to the Department for publication.
