Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) Open File 775 / British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (BCMEMPR) Regional Geochemical Survey (RGS) 4 presented analytical and statistical data for 13 elements in stream sediments from 863 sample sites, collected at an average density of one sample per 17.9 km². Uranium, fluoride, and pH values in waters from these sites were also included in this report.

In 1990, under the BCMEMPR RGS Archive Program, the samples collected in 1979 were analyzed by Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA). These new data for gold and 25 other elements, along with original survey results, were published in 1992 as BCMEMPR RGS 36.

The original reconnaissance survey of the Bonaparte Lake, British Columbia map sheet (NTS 92P) was managed and funded by the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources as part of the Regional Geochemical Survey Program. Data management was provided by the Geological Survey of Canada.

The reanalysis program was funded in part by the Canada - British Columbia Mineral Development Agreement (1985 - 1990).

The reanalysis program was managed by the Geological Survey Branch staff of the MEMPR.

P.F. Matysek and W. Jackaman coordinated the operational activities of contract and MEMPR staff.
