The regional lake survey for northwestern Manitoba (NTS 64B) was conducted during the summer of 1984.

This report is an update of Open File 1103 and contains new data for fluorine, gold and antimony in lake sediments and conductivity, HCO3, Ca, Mg and Fe in lake waters. Original analytical data for 14 elements plus loss-on-ignition in sediments and uranium, fluoride and pH values in concomitant waters are also included in this report.

The original reconnaissance survey was undertaken by the Geological Survey of Canada in conjunction with the Manitoba Department of Mines and Energy under the auspices of the Canada - Manitoba Interim Mineral Agreement (1983 - 1984). The reanalysis program was undertaken under the Canada - Manitoba Mineral Development Agreement (1984 - 1989).

E.H.W. Hornbrook directed the Geological Survey of Canada activities (1984, 1985).

P.W.B. Friske coordinated the operational activities of the Geological Survey of Canada staff (1984, 1985).

The W.M. Ward Technical Services Laboratories, environmental management services branch of the Manitoba Department of Environment and Workplace Safety and Health produced the lake water data (1984).

H.R. Schmitt (1984, 1985) and N.G. Lund coordinated open file production.

A.C. Galletta managed the geochemical data and prepared the regional trend marginal map utilizing a program developed by D.J. Ellwood.

J. Yelle (1983, 1985) supervised map preparation.
