The regional stream survey for Central Yukon (NTS 106C, D, E and F) was conducted during the summers of 1976 and 1977.

Open File 518 contains previously published data from Open File 419 (1976) surveys as well as new data from the Keno Hill area, sampled in 1964. This report presents analytical and statistical data for 13 elements in stream sediments from 2,058 sample sites, collected at an average density of one sample per 11.6 km². Uranium, fluoride, and pH values in waters from these sites are included in this report.

Other information:

Samples were collected in 1976 (reported in OF 419) and 1977. In addition, this open file contains new data for samples collected in 1964 from north of the Keno Hill area on NTS map sheet 106D. These sites have been given a year of collection of 1977 and a party number of 9.

Sediments collected in 1977 (p File 518) were analyzed for Hg in addition to 12 other elements.

Stokes Exploration Management Co., Vancouver, BC provided a cook and subcontracted from Viking Helicopters Ltd. for helicopter services in 1977.

Data for NTS map sheets 106D (northern half) and the southern half of 106E appearing in On 1978) and, with reanalysis data, Open File 2175 (released in 1990). Data for 1:50,000 NTS map sheets 106E/10, 106E/11, 106E/14 and 106E/15 appear only in Open File 419.
