Aqua Regia (BVM)

Keyword Definition

A 0.5 g sample is weighed into a test tube for sample digestion.  A modified aqua regia solution of equal parts concentrated ACS grade HCl and HNO3 and demineralized water is added to each sample (6 ml/g) to leach in a hot-water bath (~95°C) for one hour.  After cooling, the solution is made up to a final volume with 5% HCl.  Sample weight to solution volume ratio is 0.5 g per 10 ml.
