LOI/FeO calculation

Keyword Definition

LOI ferrous/ferric iron calculation

Samples which contain high amounts of ferrous iron compared to volatiles such as H2O may give misleading LOI analyses.  Knowing the FeO content of the sample, the LOI can be adjusted to more accurately reflect the volatile content of the sample.
