Bundle Description

Soil samples were collected from 178 sites in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island in 2007, as part of the “North American Soil Geochemical Landscapes Project”.  At each site, soil gas radon concentrations and soil gas permeability were measured.

The first set of radon data are taken from spreadsheet “Grnd Gam ray Spect – Soil Gas Rn – Lab Gam ray Spect.xls” in GSC Open File 6433.  The second set of radon data, plus the soil permeability and soil radon potential data are calculated from the data in the “Soil Radon Potential Index (SRP).xls” spreadsheet in GSC Open File 6433.

GSC field crew – measurement of soil gas radon and permeability, using ‘RADON’ apparatus.  There are two sets of radon measurements.  The second set is used in the calculation of the “soil radon potential”, along with the soil permeability measurements.
