GSC-NC-1996- B30 Kimberlite Ontario; Kimberlite Samples: ODM HMC Separation and Sorting and Indicator Mineral Picking
Type: lab data
4 kimberlite samples collected in 1995 up and down ice of the B30 kimberlite were sent to Overburden Drilling Management, Ottawa, Ontario, processed for heavy mineral concentrates (HMC) and sorted. Kimberlite samples were soaked 3 days prior to sieving and sorting. Due to the abundance of indicator minerals in kimberlite, only1/4 to 1/16 of the kimberlite concentrates were picked for 4 indicator minerals including pyrope, ilmenite, chrome diopside, and chromite.
Grain separation data and indicator mineral are published in GSC Open File 3295.
