Bundle Description

Till samples from Contwoyto Lake (NTS 76E North) were processed by Overburden Drilling Management, Ottawa for heavy mineral concentrates and gold grain picking.  25 samples were collected in 1996 and processed in 1997.  The < 1 mm fraction was processed for heavy mineral concentrates.  Gold grains were separated and classified according to shape.

Grain separation data are published in GSC Open File 3768 and gold grain data are published in GSC Open File 3654.

Overburden Drilling Management Heavy Mineral Separation process and visible gold grain counts. The < 1 mm fraction is table processed.  For some samples that contain abundant indicator minerals, the 1-2 mm fraction is processed for heavy minerals directly by heavy liquid separation.
