Bundle Description

Soil samples were collected from 178 sites in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island in 2007, as part of the “North American Soil Geochemical Landscapes Project”.  The <2mm size fraction of the “public health” (top 5 cm) layer was analysed by ICP-MS/ES, following a water leach.  The pH of the solution was also measured.

The data are published in GSC Open File 6433.

64 elements are analysed in GSC Ottawa laboratories, by a mix of ICP-MS and ICP-ES.  Elements analysed by ICP-ES are Ca, Cl, Fe, K, Mg, Na, P, S, Sc and Si.  The remaining elements are analysed by ICP-MS.  Sample digestion is via a pure water leach.  The pH of the solution is also measured.
