Bundle Description

Geochemical results of humus samples collected in the Atholville (21O/15) and Charlo (21O/16) regions, north central New Brunswick.

The < 177 micron fraction of the humus samples was analysed for 12 trace elements using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS).  For determination of Ag, Cd, Co, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn, atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) was performed with an air acetylene flame.  Determination of Mo and V was done by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) using a nitrous oxide acetylene flame.  Mercury was determined by cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry (Hg-CVAAS) using a modified Hatch and Ott procedure.  Loss on ignition (LOI) was also determined for the humus samples.  The analyses were carried out by CANTECH Laboratories in Calgary, Alberta.
