Bundle Description

Geochemical results of till samples collected in the Kuujjuarapik-Whapmagoostui region of Quebec are presented. The Kuujjuarapik-Whapmagoostui map area is located in Northern Quebec and corresponds to NTS map sheet 33M, N.

The till samples were analysed for 12 trace elements using X-ray fluorescence (XRF). Mercury (Hg) analysis of the till samples was performed by atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (AFS) after digestion of the fractions by strong and weak acids. Analysis was done at the Quebec Geoscience Centre Laboratories.

The geochemical results of this survey were reported by M. Parent, M.R. Laflèche, S.J. Paradis, and É. Boisvert, Geological Survey of Canada, Quebec Office.

The data were published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 3269.

Samples were analysed for 12 trace elements by X-ray fluorescence (XRF).  The samples were analysed for mercury (Hg) content twice, using atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (AFS) after digestion in either strong (sulphuric + nitric) or weak (hydrochloric) acids. Analyses were performed by laboratories at the Quebec Geoscience Centre (QCG).
